Art has always been a big part of my life. I enjoyed crafts as a kid and pursued art throughout high school, eventually earning my BA in Ceramics from the University of Wyoming. I grew up visiting Oregon every summer, so the ocean has always been important to me. I could never get enough of the cool water skimming over the sand or the crashing waves and tranquil colors reflecting off the water at sunrise and sunset.
In May 2014, my husband and I felt led to Santa Fe, where we moved our family and became the owners of Mountain Trails Fine Art for 7 years. I learned the business side of running a gallery as well as meeting many new and wonderful artists. We now live in Wyoming where I still do art on my own as well as working with kids through my church and local elementary school.
I enjoy painting, pottery, and crafts. Sculpture has been my new adventure. I greatly enjoy it and am working towards more wildlife representation with a creative twist. I have also enjoyed the process of publishing my first children’s book!
I believe the greatest artist of all is God. No one creates anything quite as amazing as what He’s done, and I try to represent the landscapes that I find most beautiful in my paintings. All creation is wonderful in its own way, and I feel lucky that, as an artist, I get to show what matters most to me and how I view the beauty all around me. As they say, "Earth without art is just Eh," and I think the Earth is the most spectacular work of art there is!
