"I painted this fun curio shop at night on October 26, 2024, in Tucumcari, New Mexico on Historic Route 66. A group of artist friends and I had traveled to Tucumcari to paint for the weekend. This little shop is close to the Blue Swallow Motel (a restored Motor hotel on 66 that you really should see if you ever travel old Route 66.) Take a look at the neon sign - they spelled Tepee with one e after T. However, the building has two E's after T. I don't think I would have noticed that detail if I had not painted it. It's also funny that there is a saguaro cactus sculpture in front of the teepee. Saguaros don't grow in New Mexico, but you'd probably only know that if you lived here. When I return, I want to go inside to see all the fun things they sell"
